Safety, Side Effects & Credentials

Are treatments safe? What are the side effects?

When performed by a registered nurse using approved products, treatments are generally considered safe. Possible side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising. Serious complications are rare.

What qualifications do your Registered Nurses have?

All medical treatments at our clinic, including IV Vitamin Therapy and Ozone Therapy, are administered by highly skilled Registered Nurses. Our nursing team is licensed and specifically trained. By utilizing Registered Nurses, we ensure that every procedure is handled with the highest level of clinical expertise, prioritizing patient safety and precise medical care. Pre– & Post‑Treatment Guidance

What should I do before and after my treatment?

Before your visit, focus on hydration and eating a light meal, while avoiding caffeine to ensure the best results. Afterward, continue drinking plenty of water to help your body process the nutrients and follow specific guidelines—such as avoiding intense heat, heavy exercise, or touching treated areas—to support healing and recovery. Across all services, monitor your body's response and reach out if you have concerns about the injection or treatment site.

How much downtime is involved?

Most procedures involve minimal downtime; for example, vitamin injections and IV drips typically allow you to return to your daily activities immediately. Some treatments, such as PRP or certain injectables, may cause mild redness or localized swelling lasting 24–48 hours, but overall recovery is quick and non-invasive.

Pregnancy & Nursing: Vitamin IVs & IM Injections

Can I receive a vitamin IV infusion while pregnant or nursing?

No. To maintain the highest safety standards, our clinic policy is to not administer elective IV therapy to individuals who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding. While IV hydration is used in hospital settings for specific medical needs, we prioritize a conservative approach for elective wellness treatments.

Why is IV therapy restricted during pregnancy?

We prioritize the health of both parent and baby. Because the long-term effects of high-concentration vitamins delivered directly into the bloodstream have not been extensively studied in relation to fetal development, we forgo non-essential IV procedures out of an abundance of caution.

Is an infusion safe while breastfeeding?

We advise waiting until you have fully finished nursing before seeking elective IV therapy. Because certain nutrients can pass through breast milk in high concentrations, we recommend focusing on oral hydration and prenatal vitamins as directed by your OB-GYN or pediatrician during this time.

Are IM vitamin shots safe during pregnancy or nursing?

Yes. Intramuscular (IM) injections are a safe, effective way to maintain optimal nutrient levels. These shots deliver vitamins into the muscle for gradual absorption, making them an excellent alternative for those who struggle with oral supplements due to nausea or digestive changes.

Are these injections safe for the baby?

Yes. When administered at wellness dosages, vitamins such as B12, Vitamin D, and Folic Acid are essential for infant health and fetal development. Our protocols use standardized, pregnancy-safe dosages that align with prenatal nutritional requirements.

What are the benefits of IM shots during pregnancy?

Combat Fatigue: B12 shots help manage "pregnancy brain" and the exhaustion common in the first and third trimesters.

Gentle on the Stomach:
Unlike prenatal pills, which can trigger or worsen morning sickness, IM shots bypass the digestive tract entirely.

Immune Support:
Vitamin D and C injections support the immune system, which is naturally suppressed during pregnancy.

How do IM shots benefit nursing mothers?

Breastfeeding significantly increases nutritional demands. B-complex and Vitamin D injections help maintain maternal energy levels while ensuring breast milk contains the vital nutrients necessary for a baby's growth.

Which injections are recommended?

Vitamin B12: Supports energy and red blood cell formation.

Vitamin D3: Essential for immune function and bone health.

B-Complex: Aids metabolism and helps manage stress.

Do I need a doctor's note?

While IM shots are generally safe, we always recommend consulting your OB-GYN or midwife before starting a new supplement routine. We are happy to coordinate with your provider to ensure your injections complement your prenatal care.

How often should I schedule a shot?

Most clients find that a weekly or bi-weekly injection provides a consistent energy boost and maintains stable nutrient levels without the "crash" often associated with oral vitamins.

MEDICAL DISCLAIMER

This information is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. Always consult with your OBGYN or a licensed healthcare provider before starting any new supplement or injection while pregnant or breastfeeding.

IV Drip Therapy & Vitamin Shots

What Type of IV drip or shot do you offer?

Check our IV Drips and Shots treatments.

How should I prepare?

Stay hydrated and eat a light, balanced meal before the session to minimize discomfort.

How long does it take?

Most drips take around 45–60 minutes, shots are quicker, typically under 15 minutes.

How often can I receive treatments?

Depends on goals: some patients do IV drips weekly, others more frequently during intensive regimens.

What side effects might I experience?

You may experience mild discomfort at the needle site, or temporary fatigue and lightheadedness during or after your session. While more serious side effects are rare, our Registered Nurses monitor you throughout the process to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

What is PRP?

A concentration of your own platelets and plasma, rich in growth factors, used to support tissue healing, commonly applied in skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, joint injections, and orthopedic healing.

How is PRP administered?

A small sample of your blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to concentrate your natural platelets. This nutrient-rich plasma is then precisely injected into the target area to stimulate natural healing and tissue regeneration.

How many sessions are recommended?

Typically a series of 3 monthly treatments, followed by maintenance every 3‑6 months. Effectiveness depends on condition, concentration, and protocol.

Are there risks?

At Max Immunity, your safety is our absolute priority. While any procedure involving blood-work requires care, we mitigate risks by adhering to strict hospital-grade sterilization protocols:

  • Single-Use Medical Supplies: We use only sterile, disposable kits; nothing that touches blood is ever reused.
  • Closed-Loop Systems: Our technology ensures your blood never contacts the external environment, eliminating contamination risks.
  • Licensed Clinical Staff: All procedures are performed by licensed RNs and NPs in a controlled, sanitary environment.
  • Certified Equipment: We use medical-grade generators and high-precision centrifuges to ensure the purity and safety of every treatment.

By maintaining these high standards, we ensure that the focus remains entirely on your wellness and recovery.

Ozone Therapy (Blood Ozone / Medical Ozone)

What is Ozone Therapy and how does it work?

Blood is drawn and infused with medical-grade ozone gas, then returned to your body. It's intended to boost oxygen utilization, enhance immune response, reduce inflammation, and support detoxification.

What areas can it help with?

Used for chronic fatigue, immune support, pain, cognitive clarity, infection, athletic recovery, Lyme disease, inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.

How many sessions and frequency?

Usually 5–10 treatments spaced 1–2 weeks apart; many patients feel improvements after 3–4 sessions. Maintenance sessions may follow every 6 months.

What are common side effects?

Most side effects are mild: lightheadedness, fatigue, headache, mild vein irritation. Rare detox reactions (Herxheimer) may include nausea or flushing.

Who should avoid ozone therapy?

Contraindications include pregnancy, uncontrolled bleeding, anemia, hyperthyroidism, G6PD deficiency, cardiovascular instability, or ozone allergy. Always consult a medical provider before starting.
