NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide)

Formula Recipe

Normal SALINE
Duration: 2 to 4 hours

What it is

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every single cell of your body. It has two primary jobs
  • Fueling the Mitochondria: It turns the food you eat into energy (ATP).
  • DNA Repair: It activates Sirtuins, which are "longevity genes" that repair damaged DNA and protect cells from aging.
  • The Problem: As we age, our natural NAD+ levels drop drastically. By age 50, you have roughly half the NAD+ you had in your 20s. An IV infusion bypasses the gut to rapidly elevate these levels in the brain and muscles.

Benefits

NAD+ IV Drip Therapy is currently considered the most advanced "regenerative" treatment in the IV wellness industry. While other drips provide vitamins and minerals, NAD+ provides a coenzyme that is fundamentally required for your cells to function and repair themselves.

  • Cognitive Enhancement: Often called a "brain restoration" tool, it helps clear brain fog, improves memory, and increases mental focus.
  • Anti-Aging & Longevity: By repairing DNA and protecting telomeres (the end caps of your DNA), it slows down the biological aging process.
  • Athletic Recovery: Helps muscles repair faster and reduces inflammation after intense physical stress.
  • Metabolic Boost: Improves the efficiency of your metabolism, which can aid in weight management and energy production.
  • Mood Regulation: It is often used to help balance neurotransmitters, potentially aiding in the treatment of anxiety and depression.

Who is it good for

  • High-Pressure Executives: People who need peak mental performance and high-level cognitive "stamina."
  • Those Noticing Age-Related Decline: People in their 40s and up who feel "slower" than they used to.
  • Athletes: For faster recovery and better cellular energy output.
  • People in Recovery: It is frequently used in specialized clinics to help reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms for those recovering from addiction (alcohol or opioids).

When is it used

  • The "Loading" Phase: Unlike a standard vitamin drip, NAD+ is often done in a series (e.g., 3 to 5 sessions over a week or two) to "load" the cells.
  • Quarterly Maintenance: Once the cells are topped off, many users do a "booster" session every 1–3 months.
  • Burnout Recovery: When a person feels completely "depleted" and standard vitamins aren't helping.

Side Effects

NAD+ is different from other IVs because it is pharmacologically active, meaning you will likely "feel" it while it's happening.

  • The "NAD+ Sensation": If dripped too fast, it causes a heavy sensation in the chest, stomach "butterflies," a mild headache, or a feeling of sinus pressure.
  • Fatigue: Some people feel very tired immediately after the session (as the body begins repair work) before feeling the "surge" of energy the next day.
  • Infusion Time: Because of the sensations mentioned above, an NAD+ drip must be run very slowly. A typical session takes 2 to 4 hours, whereas a vitamin drip only takes 45 minutes.
To prepare for a 2-to-4-hour NAD+ IV session, focus on physical comfort and logistical planning to manage the unique sensations of the treatment

1. Physical Prep

  • Eat: Have a light meal (oatmeal, eggs) 1–2 hours before to prevent nausea.
  • Hydrate: Drink 16–24 oz of water to make veins accessible and "buffer" the infusion.
  • No Caffeine: Avoid coffee or stimulants to prevent jitters and heart palpitations.

2. Logistics

  • Dress in Layers: Wear a hoodie or bring a blanket, as IV fluids can make you feel cold.
  • Entertainment: Choose hands-free options like podcasts or audiobooks, as one arm will be immobile.
  • Bathroom: Use the restroom immediately before the session starts.

3. Key Tip

  • Communication: If you feel chest pressure or nausea, tell the nurse immediately so they can slow the drip rate.

Contraindications

While generally safe, IV drips are typically not recommended for individuals with certain pre-existing conditions, such as

Severe kidney disease or renal failure. Uncontrolled hypertension or severe heart conditions. Certain allergies to the ingredients in the formula.
